Collier Visits Dunblane to Hear from the Community and Outline His Vision
Mike Collier visited Dunblane to hold community meetings and meet with local residents, business owners, and community representatives as part of his campaign across the full breadth of the Clackmannanshire and Dunblane constituency. Dunblane is a thriving and well-connected community within the Stirling council area, home to the magnificent Dunblane Cathedral, an outstanding golf course, and the National Tennis Centre, as well as excellent schools and a strong commuter economy. Residents raised a range of issues with Mr Collier, including concerns about GP appointment availability, the quality of public transport links to Stirling, and the importance of maintaining Dunblane's distinctive character amid pressure for new development. 'Dunblane is a remarkable town — historic, ambitious, proud, and with a strong community spirit,' said Mr Collier. 'The people here have clear views about what they want for their community and they deserve an MSP who will listen and represent those views without compromise.' He pledged to make GP access a priority for Dunblane, noting that the town's population has grown significantly as a commuter destination and that healthcare provision has not always kept pace. He also pledged to fight for Dunblane's transport links and to ensure that the town's distinctiveness is protected through sensible planning policy. 'Dunblane has a voice in this campaign, and I will make sure it is heard.'
